Brushing tail on back or flank - Calming.

Darkpath - a road
Fox dung - an insult; stronger offense than mouse-brain
Fresh-kill - recently killed prey
Greencough - severe chest infection, which can be fatal in elders and young kits
Halfbridge - a dock
Moonhigh - the time of night when the moon is at its highest - often midnight
Mouse-brained - not very smart
Mouse dung - an insult; stronger than mouse-brain, but less offensive than fox dung
One moon - one month (half-moon = two weeks, quarter-moon = one week)
Sundown - sunset
Sunhigh - noon
Sunup - dawn
Tree-eater - bulldozer
Whitecough - mild chest infection
Ranks
Archon - One of the two cats who lead the Haven.
Dominant - One of the two most dominant cats in the Anarchy.
Stratego - The cat who is second-in-command and follows the archon's orders.
Praetor - The cat who is second-in-command and follows the dominant's orders.
Physician - A cat of the Haven who is trained specifically for healing and medicine.
Doctor - A cat of the Anarchy who is trained specifically for healing and medicine.
Hoplite - A cat trained to defend, hunt for, and fight for the Haven.
Legionnaire - A cat trained to defend, hunt for, and fight for the Anarchy.
Kitten-mother - A she-cat expecting or nursing kittens.
Neophyte - A cat who is in training to become a hoplite or physician; a neophyte must be of the oldest litter in the nursery for a half-moon before beginning training.
Novice - A cat who is in training to become a legionnaire or doctor; a novice must be of the oldest litter in the nursery for a half-moon before beginning training.
Kitten - A cat 4 moons old or less.
Superior - A retired hoplite, physician, stratego or archon of the Haven.
Senior - A retired legionnaire, doctor, praetor or dominant of the Anarchy.
Wanderer - A cat who is not part of a group.
Outsider - Another term for wanderer; some cats find it offensive.
Graecus - A cat of the Haven; some cats find the term offensive. Lit. Greek.
