ONE Respect the staff. It will make our jobs a hell of a lot easier if you be good little children. That means no arguing, no back talking, no smart-alecing. If you ever feel that you were treated unfairly by a staffer, PM another member of the staff with proof.
TWO Keep things PG-13 or lower; make sure that a 13-year-old could roleplay here without being traumatized by adult content. Violence is allowed, but no extreme gore. Swear words may be used sparingly and not in a sexual context; sexual roleplay is prohibited.
THREE No OOC (Out of Character) accounts. Staff are the exception.
FOUR We have a restriction of 8 characters per person, and if you want more, you must have at least 40 posts on each account. Every time you want a new account, you must make another 40 posts on each account you already have. This may seem harsh, but this is to avoid a situation where we have millions of characters and zero inactivity, and if you are active, it should be fairly easy. Alternatively, you could delete an account to make room for another one and PM a staffer to notify them; it would be greatly appreciated. You can also PM a staffer saying you want to 'recycle' your account - that is, keep your account but start out with 0 posts all over again.
FIVE To ensure that one of your characters is not deleted, you must log into all of your accounts even if you aren't using them to prevent a staffer from mistaking your account for an inactive one and deleting it.
SIX Here on ASWS, we aren't particularly fussy about length. One sentence, a paragraph or three, we don't mind all that much (though you should always strive to improve your literacy). However, you should try to use basic roleplay etiquette. Try to match your roleplay partner's posting length and if you can't, clarify with them beforehand.
SEVEN You may have a kitten without parents. If you want two characters to have kittens, they do not necessarily have to be mates. However, you must discuss it with them before having the litter to make sure that both of you are okay with it. Nonconsensual pregnancies are also fine, but don't go into any detail. The kittens must be born 3 months after the mother is first pregnant, whether it be real time, or 30 posts, 10 posts being the equivalent of a month.
EIGHT Use the group boards for roleplaying, and roleplaying only. If you want to talk about other things, use the General board. The Skypool is only for physicians and doctors, or strategoi becoming archons (praetors will not go to the Skypool to become dominants as they are not 'official' HPs (High Positions) in that they are not recognized as official by the Anarchy IC (In Character). You can only post in the other group board with permission from a staffer, and if you post without permission your warning bar will be raised to 5%.
NINE Do not post with useless spaces, bumps, posts comrpising of meaningless words/numbers/symbols/emoticons or otherwise irrelevant posts. This is called 'spam' and if you do it twice, your warning level will be raised to 5%. In this case, reading the rules is no exception. After all, you shouldn't feel a strange desire to spam up the forum for no reason at all, and if you do, you should see a doctor.
TEN Do not play other characters. this is called powerplaying, and it annoys the person who plays the character - and the staff - as well as earning you a big fat 5% on your warning bar if you do it twice.
ELEVEN Listen to the staff, in this order: admins, archons/dominants, strategoi/praetors, physicians/doctors, and physician/doctor neophytes/novices. Archons/dominants have the highest authority within their group, and only admins can overrule them.
TWELVE Respect your fellow roleplayers - no name calling, put downs, ganging up, making fun of or swearing at, trolling, baiting, bashing or passive aggressiveness. just because you aren't using capital letters, exclamation marks and angry emojis doesn't mean you're not being rude.
THIRTEEN Do not advertise websites outside the Advertisement board, PM members links to your website (unless they asked for the link) or put a link in your signature that leads to said website. A repeat of above behaviour will result in your warning bar being raised to 5%. Websites that are not Warriors-themed and not hosted by ProBoards may be posted in the General Board.
FIFTEEN You can kill your character literally whenever you want. Just PM one of the staff so they can change your stars to either an Elysium spirit or an Underworld spirit.
SIXTEEN Make sure your name is realistic - prefixes and suffixes must only use things and adjectives a cat would know of. Would a cat know what a diamond is? no. Would a cat know what poison is? Maybe, but would you really name your kitten Poisonkitten? You cannot use names from the books and your display name is to be comprised only of your character's name. The names 'moon' and 'star' are allowed, as both prefix and suffix, as they are not considered to be as sacred as by the clan cats. Humans' names are seasons are also permitted, as they are used by the cats instead of 'greenleaf', 'leaf-fall', 'leafbate', and 'newleaf'. If you are unsure whether your name is eligible, feel free to pm one of the staff.
SEVENTEEN Do not share any personal info anywhere on ASWS, including PMs and the Introductions board. You can share, however, your first name, age, state/province/region, gender and appropriate images, but you cannot share the city/address you live in or your last name. If you attempt to, a high rank will warn you. Do it a second time, that'll be 10%. Eftpos not accepted. and, no, you can't have fries with that.
EIGHTEEN Do not use information you know but your character does not. this is called metagaming, and it is usually in order to gain an in-character edge. The Gods (currently NPC, but they may be assigned to staff once we have more members), Elysium and Underworld spirits are exception to this rule, since they are all-seeing. Also, remember there is a gap between the IC and OOC world; just because somebody's character is mates with your character does not make you a couple. Otherwise, things could get awkward.
NINETEEN The staff reserve the rights to warn or ban a member without advance notice for the purposes of making ASWS a fun, safe environment for everybody else.
